There are few steps which you need to follow to help you find the right car for you
1. What kind of car do you want?
This is the first question which arises in everybody’s mind when you set out to look for a car, what kind of a car do I want for myself. To evaluate this you need to keep certain factors in your mind, why you are purchasing the car, for whom you are purchasing the car, what would be the use of this car, who is going to use it and what all could be done with this car. If you answer these few questions then you would have a fair idea of what type of car do you require. For this the basic factor which would be essential is that keep your need first in mind and your want later.

2. How much can you afford?
This is an important question as it relates to your fianances, if you have enough finances then you could even look up to your want and get that car. However, if your finance is limited then you might stick with your need rather than looking at a luxury car. For this you would also have to consider where you will arrange the finance from, whether it will be through a loan or your own personal finance.
3. Should you lease your car or buy it?
This is a trick question and would be answered by the amount of finance available from your end. If you have sufficient cash then it would be advised that you go ahead and buy the car on cash as that would save you the interest amount. However, if you do not have the required finance then you would be forced to take an auto loan or rather get your vehicle leased. This means you would drive the car of your dreams then and pay monthly installments for it.
4. Have you considered all vehicles in that class?
Keep a variety of options open in your mind so that you could make an appropriate decision and not a hasty one since cars are not changed on a regular basis. For this you might be required to do some research work, go out in the market and meet some dealers, look at the models available and then set your mind on one vehicle closest to your choice.
5. Have you considered all the costs of ownership?
When you go to buy a car, the dealer will not tell you the total cost of the car upfront. They will only tell you the price of the vehicle excluding all the other costs and fees. All the costs of ownership would also mean paying sales tax, for the license fees, insurance etc. This would add up to a considerable amount which might go onto affect your buying decision.
6. Research Options
Once you’ve found the right car for you, research for the options from where you could go and buy your car. This could either be a dealer or the main distributor. Dealers often increase the price to keep their profit margin where as if you go to the distributor directly then they might give you the factory rates.
7. Set a test drive
Once all the thinking process has been done, it’s now time for some physical work to be done. Whether you are buying a used car or a new car, the most important thing is taking a test drive of the car. If you do not opt for this and later the car does not function according to your needs then that would add major worries to your life. Therefore, its highly recommended that whenever you wish to buy a car, first take it for a test drive.
8. How to test drive a car
Try to evaluate the car from every possible perspective so that you could find out the good and bad points about your vehicles. Drive over bumps, take tight corners and test the brakes in a safe location. Get in and out of the car several times and be sure to sit in the backseat, especially if you plan on carrying passengers. In short, ask yourself if you can live with this car for a number of years.
9. After the test drive
Once you’ve taken the test drive, leave from that place and go onto the other dealer and try their car out. The more cars your test, the better your purchasing decision would be.
10. Getting ready to buy the car
This is the last stage of the ideal tips for buying your dream car. Once you’ve been through all the steps, you would have a fair idea of what decision you should make. This would help your purchase decision be a educated one and not a wrong decision.
